Synapse

Synapse is a thin client application SDK based on the Ozone Widget Framework (OWF), a framework for hosting widgets (lightweight software components) in Web browsers. OWF, in turn, is based on Apache Shindig, an implementation of the OpenSocial gadget API. OWF implements a publish/subscribe messaging system that enables loose coupling between widgets, providing a great deal of flexibility to both application developers and users alike.
Synapse complements and extends OWF by improving widget interoperability through a shared data and eventing model. Synapse widgets use the OWF publish/subscribe mechanism to broadcast and receive notifications of events containing object references. Events that occur in one widget (e.g., data additions, selections, or deletions) can be immediately reflected in other, associated widgets. This enables the widgets to work together to provide information analysts with richer, more powerful analytical capabilities.
Sotera makes the Synapse SDK freely available to registered users under the terms of the GNU General Public License (GPL), v3. To download a copy of Synapse, please visit our download portal. Sotera is also pleased to provide custom Synapse and OWF widget development services. For more information, please email us at download@soteradefense.com.

FEF (Fusion Exploitation Framework)
The FEF (Fusion Exploitation Framework) is an open, cross-platform, service-oriented architecture (SOA) that provides the processing logic required to execute data fusion algorithms. The FEF software development kit (SDK) allows fusion application developers to focus on the creation and integration of fusion algorithms, rather than having to deal with the mechanics of low-level data processing. FEF is designed and implemented in such a way that new algorithms can interact with any previous ones, regardless of the vendor.
Specifically, FEF offers these features:
- Sensor Data Infrastructure – API allows you to add new sensor types.
- Fusion Algorithm Infrastructure – API allows you to integrate custom fusion applications and consistently account for pedigree, confidence, out-of-sequence data, and unfamiliar data sources.
- Ability to add proprietary and non-proprietary algorithms.
- Ability to add external visualization tools.
Targeted primarily at the intelligence community, FEF provides a well-documented API that enables data fusion algorithm writers to develop a fused data store from multiple data sources. FEF offers a solid foundation and a rich set of services that adhere to open source technical standards.

The Analytic Service Framework (ASF)
The ASF is a framework for data fusion, statistical conditioning, and analytics of big data. The ASF includes:
A Web-based User Interface (UI) to design real-time or at-rest analytics from provided or user developed operators
Private Secure Storage Cache to store local data, the output of analytics, and existing workflows Analytic engine built to integrate into existing cloud infrastructure to support large scale and streaming analytics, and API to allow 3rd party developers to integrate external capabilities and develop new analytics which work seamlessly with provided analytics.
Specifically, The ASF API allows users to gather multiple static and dynamic sources of data, to include live streaming data. The ASF API provides an interface to develop analytical processes for data conditioning and data fusion, and provides multiple choices in visualization outputs, such as heat maps, graphs, CSV, and KML.
