John Risch – Vice President, Research and Development
John Risch is a former Chief Scientist at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory where he led research teams conducting basic and applied computer science research for a variety of DOE, DOD, and other U.S. Government and commercial clients. As Principle Investigator for the PNNL Starlight Program, John directed the development of PNNL’s pioneering Starlight Visual Information System software, establishing it as one of the U.S. Intelligence Community’s premier information analysis tools. Starlight has won numerous awards, including an R&D Magazine R&D 100 Award and a 2006 Federal Laboratory Consortium Award. More recently, John served as the CTO of Future Point Systems, Inc., a Silicon Valley software startup established to commercialize PNNL’s Starlight software. John has a B.S. in Geology and has conducted graduate study in Geophysics at the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
